Stage lighting - Modern stage lighting is a flexible tool in the production of theatre, dance, opera and other performance arts. Several different types of lighting instruments are used in the pursuit of the various principles or goals of lighting.
Fade (lighting) - In stage lighting, a fade is a gradual increase or decrease of the intensity of light projected onto the stage. The term fade-in refers to gradually changing the lighting level from complete darkness to a predetermined lighting level.
Moving light - Circa 1987, the first computer-controlled stage lighting fixtures, called moving lights or intelligent fixtures, began to gain widespread acceptance in the concert industry. These fixtures slowly started being used in a more 'traditional' theatrical environment, and are currently used in almost all major theatrical productions.
Stage diving - Stage diving is the act of getting onto the stage at a concert while a band is playing—usually heavy metal or punk rock—and then "diving" into the crowd below, hoping they will catch you. If they catch you, you can then attempt to crowd surf: you remain supine while being passed from person to person over the audience's heads.
